Answer» Old CPU: INTEL Celeron D352
New CPU: Intel Pentium E6600
When I turn on the computer both FANS start turning and the lights on the computer and CD drive flash, but there is no beep telling me that its passed or failed the POST, also the screen displays nothing.
I know its not the other COMPONENTS as I've tried it with the old processor and it works fine.
Can anyone help?Thermal paste applied properly ? ? Does the MBoard SUPPORT that CPU ? ? Did you add additional RAM in this process ? ?I didn't apply any thermal paste, it think there was already some on the heat sink. I don't know if the mother board will support it, I have this one

Bottom Line: Yes.Well if you havnt applied thermal paste, and left it run, you could have burnt it out already, that paste is needed to draw heat from CPU to the fans.

BIOS will sense overtemp condition and shut computer off well before cpu burns out.Forgot about that, sorry!
