Answer» Hello all,
1 day ago my laptop chrashed. First it showed a blue screen and when I rebooted it, my screen was 400x300px and has 4 BIT. (see screen). I was looking at a other forum and they told me to go to the Device MANAGER. So I did and I saw that my Nvidia 8400M GS video card had a little (!) with it. So I asked what that MEANT and I was told I needed to reinstall my drivers for it. I did but, there is no change. So can anyone tell me how to fix this/what I should do? Is my video card broken? Go back to a computer shop and let them look after it? Or does anyone here has a solution for it?

[recovering disk space - old attachment deleted by admin]I went to HP support to find a driver and the list of models for this unit is long, so you need a bit more info on the exact model.

once you know which one you can download it and install it.Already did that, on the Nvidia site and the HP site, no results But in the chat someone said that I should go back to a computer store; my videocard is probaly melted They don't know what they're TALKING about...
BTW you have a vid chip...not a card. The driver should only come from HP for a laptop.Try to do "system restore". It should work for sure.
I had similar problem as yours before and it worked for me.It works again, but I didnt do anything
