Solve : Help me fix a laptop touchpad?? |
|
Answer» Recently the left button on my touchpad stopped working, I opened it up and found that theres a small dent in the small metal square encasing the sensor and basically the button is stuck in one position. How do I fix this? Is there any way to get the button back to it's original position?Quote from: sonicpanda123 on July 13, 2009, 08:18:03 PM Recently the left button on my touchpad stopped working, I opened it up and found that theres a small dent in the small metal square encasing the sensorThe 'sensor' is typically a microswitch. Unfortunately these SWITCHES come in numerous variations. You might search electronic supply houses for a switch of same height, pad MOVEMENT, and foot dimension. Your measurement will be in millimeters. And your HAND stable to solder that new switch in place. Switch costs pennies. Everything else is difficult. Better is to find a part numbers on that board. Search the INTERNET for a 'chop shop' that can sell that same board from a disassembled computer. |
