Answer»

Replacing a laptop motherboard is a very tricky job....i think you've made a bad choice...even if they did tick you off.I'm not going to do it myself, I know a COMPUTER TECH who is going to do it for me.I still think you've made a bad choice...Um...wont opening it to get the drive out void the warranty?thats true and everything sorry patio but its a matter of why not so much that he can do it.  Quote from: squall_01 on February 16, 2009, 11:20:00 AM

thats true and everything sorry patio but its a matter of why not so much that he can do it.

Which means what ? ?
Was my advice or your advice bad ? ?both thats the thing.  They didnt say why they needed the drive with it.  Yours cause it WOULD mean that he would be probably have his drive formatted or the data comprimised.  But the voiding is a good point.  Sorry I called bad for the most part.  Things happen.  But all considering thought it be out of warrenty.
The drive has absolutely nothing to do with the bad MBoard...
Had he asked or wanted info on recovering his data it would have been given... and was...
You suggested he should attempt to swap out a laptop MBoard...

See the difference here ? ?no cause they wanted the drive thats not something that is usually wanted or asked for when doing this kind of work. Quote from: squall_01 on February 16, 2009, 12:44:44 PM
no cause they wanted the drive thats not something that is usually wanted or asked for when doing this kind of work.

and a SIMPLE remedy was suggested in PLACING a new drive in the laptop before sending it off.I thought we agreed to do that to back up the data or something of that nature.
