Answer» Right well im not sure what PIECE of hardware is wrong here so please help. The other nite my computer was fine no problems but the next morning for some reason the monitor wot do anything. i mean nothing comes up it stays on like "stand by" mode instead of displaying anything. So i think maybe the graphics card has gone get a graphics card that i know is working and put it in there......nothing. ok i thought maybe its something to do with the motherboard ike the AGP slot is not detecting the graphics card or something. So i try i different compatible motherboard still nothing. Its not the monitor because ive tried a different one.
what else could it be??
PLEASE HELP!
thanks akDoes the system still pass the post? - get the usual 'beep'? Do you see any lights from the drives as it boots up? im not sure about the beep but everthing seems to come on all the fans start up. its ust the monitor doesn't come onDo you have to log in when the system starts normally or does it just load to the desktop? If it just goes through to the desktop you should still hear the windows jingle if all is loading properly, if not then its not posting.
If you tried a new motheboard and vga crad then it may be the PSU is failing or possibly the cpu. Not mush else it can be? Have you tried the monitor on another machine?yeah tried the monitor. tried a new cpu
psu how would i fix that?
havent connected speakers so im not sure if the jingle goes on. its got me baffled! I think power supply. I have seen this a lot lately. Try one from a know good machine to see what happens, unless this is a proprietary Dell, Compaq, etc.it is a new power supply but i thought it couldnt be that as everything else was working! like i said all the fans are going around! what Wattage would you recommend? think this one is a 480w as i UPGRADED from 300w
thanks for all the helpThat should be enough. Whqat processor and motherboard are we talking/ Graphics ADAPTER?
