Answer» Hello, new to the forum. I have a Sony Vaio desktop that is about 7yrs. old. It came with a C drive VOLUME/D drive volume ratio of about 1 to 4. Now that I've accumulated quite a bit of info, the C drive has about 19% available space, while the D drive hardly has a dent in it. I always save everything to the D drive, however there always seems to be items that save to the C drive(my docs, program files being the most prevalent)which build up over time. Is it possible to move the target location of things like program file to the D drive,or would a partitioning program help? THANKS DanNormally on laptops the D: drive is reserved for the restore partition... To do this, right click on My Documents to open the Properties panel. Click on the Move button, select D:\ or a folder on D:\ as the destination and proceed. This will also move the My Music and My Pictures folders, since they are normally under My Documents. Got another gig and 1/2 free space on my c-drive. |
