Answer» This should be an easy thing for someone that actually knows a little something about BATCH files! I just want to delete some MS Word documents from a folder. The files are named according to date, i.e., 0616, 0617, 0618, so this is how I would like to identify the files to be DELETED (delete all files in a specific folder that begin with 0616). Of course, I would like to not have to respond "y" for every file deletion! This was my first TIME posting, so I hope I did it right!on the COMMAND prompt, type del /? . There's an option for not prompting you for yes or no. to delete files begining with 0616, USE wildcard "" , eg 0616 i did that del /? and i came with this Code: [Select]Del /Q /S 0616* it works too. /q is quiet mode so it dont ask you. and the /s deletes all files from sub directory. put the batch file in the folder that the files are.Got it and it works like a champ.
