Solve : Help with laptop ram?

Answer»

I just bought a stick of ram for my laptop. It is 1G PNY PC2700. I put it into my hp laptop which had 2X 256, i only replaced one stick with the 1G making it about 1.2G. The laptop turns on but the screen was blank. Any ideas on how to fix this? All suggestions and comments are appreciated, yes even the sarcastic ones.

What is the MAKE and model of the laptop?
Have you tried removing the 1 gig again? You could also try it with only the 1G stick...i tried the 1G by it self and it was the same problem and i tried it in the other slot. the laptop is a HP dv8210us. it works without the 1G but i would like to have the 1G in it atleast.

PC2700 is RECOMMENDED which is what you said you purchased so it should work.
Check your Owners manual to see if there any changes needed in the setup to recognise additional RAM.Quote from: squall_01 on December 30, 2007, 03:11:52 PM
