Solve : Help - XP - Hard drive not found - Miss TS3!?

Answer»

Hello All,

There are so many forums this can fit into, It can fit into both software, hardware and drivers, so ill pick hardware as i think thats what i most effects.

I used to play the sims 3, When i was on vista. When 7 and TS3 got released i decided to upgrade, This was ages AGO mind, It worked completely fine and lag free on windows vista.

The trouble is, Now i upgraded to 7, People tell me 7 is not good for gaming - XP or Vista is - In 7 it lags to much i cannot play TS3 no longer, This was well last year, I miss it so much with all these expansions i decided to get urgent help and start playing again!

I tried going back to XP, Infact go to, not back to, As i never had it on this computer, But the wizard says hard drive not found. I am using a SATA hard drive. Here are my system specs from sisandra thing.

GroovybluedogI really don't understand the question. Without a long story, exactly what is the problem?Hello,

Basically The Sims 3 lags in windows 7. I wish to know what i should do, Some suggest installing XP. I get "Hard drive not found" errors with the XP install. All the specs such as hard drive make/model and stuff are above.

RegardsSo you are trying to install XP and the XP CD can't find your hd, is that it? If so, you NEED the sata drivers. Either slipstream them into an XP setup cd or copy them to a disc and press F6 at the beginning of the install when prompted to and let the installation routine find the driver. Make sure you have all of the appropriate XP drivers for your system (including the chipset driver).Hi,

Im confused now. I have 2 different stories. One says (on chat) to get dban and wipe the hard drive, and other say to get drivers. What do i do?

Regards"wiping the hard drive" has nothing to do with your problem. You need the sata driver.

Of course you can always go back to chat and listen to those geniuses if you prefer.Hello,

No no, Your helping fine. So where do i get these drivers from and how do i use them without a Floppy?
