Answer» Hello, I currently own a Dell Dimmension 4600 with an intel pentium 4 proccessor and windows xp home edition. I have owned this COMPUTER for about 5-6 years now and just recently it started MAKING a high PITCH whining SOUND that seems to get higher when the processor works harder. I don't know what could be causing this and would appreciate any help given. Thank youit could be a fan that NEEDS to be replaced or a harddrive that needs to be replaced. Once removed take it to a computer store and use it to match up a replacement fan. As always when working inside the case remove all power sources and take anti-static precautions...
