Solve : Hinge part numbers? |
|
Answer» On Friday night I opened my Toshiba Tecra 8100's lid and heard a "SNAP", and pieces of metal started falling out of the bottom left-hand corner of the display, and the screen went completely limp. Taking off the bezel revealed that the left hinge clutch is destroyed. The right hinge has been broken since I GOT the computer, so I assume that the left hinge gave out from supporting the entire screen by itself. But the right hinge has no visible damage :-? I was a little vauge about that haha. The actual hinge broke in half where it attaches to the screen. I'm afraid there's no part # for that...I just want to know what this part - A Fir Cover - is for (from that web page link): http://www.impactcomputers.com/p000288630.html Quote I just want to know what this part - A Fir Cover - is for (from that web page link): Well it turns out the right hinge wasn't actually broken, but the little rod thing was pushed out to far through the clutch. Got out a PAIR of pliers and pushed it in the opposite direction, put it back on the screen, and now the screen stays up again So all I need is a couple of new clutch assemblies (which is what broke on the left hinge anyway). Thanks! -John Also, I think the FIR cover is something related to the infrared port.I WANT a fir cover ! ! ! Quote I WANT a fir cover ! ! !Well I have one! All it does is cover the infrared port it's not that exciting... -John |
