Answer» I have a DOS based computer that when it starts to BOOT up COMES up with a message asking for the BOOT diskette in Drive A: I don't have this disk. I think the computer forgot how to LOOK at the hard drive to boot up. Is there a work around to FIX this?I suspect you cmos battery is dead In the past, I have gone into the cmos setup and reminded it of the hard drive, rebooting then worked. You will need to replace the batteryThanks for replying gpl. After several attempts I was able to get to the BIOS and set it to boot off the hard drive.
