Now click Device Manager. Now go to Display Adaptors.Double click on display drivers, right click on your display adaptor and choose Update Driver.
Hope this is what you were asking. It is what I concluded from your post.
I voted No on fix monitor..... Well what if i never had the driver installed because i just reinstalled windows (too much crap) and now i cant find itThen you need to DOWNLOAD and run Everest and let us know which Version of windows you are using and what video card Everest reports.
Download Everest-->http://majorgeeks.com/download4181.html Then follow a path provided by "street1", and click on "+" sign next to "Other Devices". This directory may be already open with one, or more entries, having yellow exclamation mark next to them. One of those entries will say something about video, or graphics. That's the device, you'll need new driver for. But first, you have to get that driver. If you have video card (not on-board video chip) installed on your computer, you still may have a CD, which came with your card. If not, it has to find on the internet. If you don't have separate video card, you need to tell us your Windows version, your computer brand, and model, and we'll try to find that driver for you.Um im running windows XP SP2... THe computer is a GATEWAY...i dont know. but i figured out that my graphics card is an Intel 82845g/gl/gv (i ran everest and found it) I believe that is the name. It says exactly:
Intel 82845G/GL/GV Graphics controller (and below it) Intel 82845G/GL/GV/GE/PE Memory Controller
i found that in Devices - physical devices - under PCI devicesVery good!!! Here is your video driver: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=865 Just pick your Windows version. What is it, anyway? XP? On next page, you'll have a choice. ".exe", or ".zip" version. Get exe, it's easier (unless you are on dial-up). Download it to KNOWN location, and then double click it. It'll expand (most likely to very same place, were your original file is). Leave it at that. Go back to Device Manager, right click on Intel 82845G/GL/GV Graphics controller, and click "Update Driver". Windows Wizard should find your new files. Post back with any problems. Good luck.No i am actually very skilled with computers, and i know i'd need the zip (assuming its the sorce) if i was on linux. then i would go to command line but anyways... i have a 120k connection so its DONE fast. (im doing this as im typing) im installing it...Next..yes..i agree...who cares really? YES!! i went into controll pannel and then display and (whatever) and changed it!!! NOW I CAN PLAY STARPORT GE! and install linux!! (jk)Good job Where is my "Thank you" note?.....LOLvery good help there Broni.Nice to have you as a member friend.
