Answer» The following is BASICALLY what I want to put into a new machine. Look it over (if you want to) and let me know what you think.
Hard drive- Seagate 80GB SATA 150 7200RPM 8MB 9ms MB- Asus A8N-SLI NVIDIA Socket 939 ATX Motherboard / Audio / PCI Express / Gigabit LAN / USB 2.0 & Firewire / Serial ATA / RAID / SLI CPU- AMD Athlon 64 3200+ / 512KB Cache / 2000 MHz FSB / Socket 939 (has a fan too) RAM- 1GB kit (512MBx2) 184-pin DIMM DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR400 • 2.6V • 64Meg x 64 (this is from CrucialMemory) Vid Card-eVGA GeForce 6200 w/Turbo Cache / 128MB DDR / 256MB Supported / PCI Express / DVI / VGA / TV-Out / Video Card
The power supply would be 450W.
I would LIKE to run Linux on this machine. Would that work with this setup? Thanks.Sounds good. You MIGHT like to check whether anyone has previously got that RAID controller working (I imagine so).
