Answer» It works! At last! Thank you so much BC and I'm sorry I got the terminology wrong. Your solution should be tagged and archived here for anyone else who RUNS into the same THING. It is an extremely useful answer to a really irritating problem. To respond to your other point, I did try every possible option in compatibility mode but always ran into the same issue. The resolution would switch briefly but then immediately switch back and the program would END up running in a small window instead of full screen. Don't know why. I followed your advice and used your executable with a FIND command to search for the process string. This works fine though it is not very elegant since the batch has to loop until the errorlevel CHANGES. It does what I wanted, though, so I can't complain. Thanks again.
