Answer» Hi i just added a second internal hard disk to my computer but i cant get the computer to 'recognise' it i.e. i cant find it on My Computer. I can see its specs during the bootup, tho. I have a Windows Vista if that helps. Thanks. Is it an IDE or SATA Hard Drive?
Are the jumpers on the hard drive set to Slave Drive, Not Primary or Master?1) Its a SATA hard disk, and 2) right, i forgotten about the jumpers... let me check. thxi was told that sata drives dont NEED to be set as master and slave :-s I checked and xenon is rite. My hard disk does not have a jumper for master/slave option.
eh, any other suggestions?Does it show up in device manager or disk manager? Start - RUN - devmgmt.msc or diskmgmt.msc respectively.Yeah it shows up in Device Manager. You have to FORMAT the driveNice Catch Xavier...Sata drives have gone away from slave/master which matters is where its pluged into determines if its seen first or second. You PROBABLY dont have any partitons running the os disk or seperate formatter will fix it, then do a repair if your using windows os.Alrite. i GOT to initialize and format the hard disk thru Computer Manager, gave it a volume letter. its working fine now.
i appreciate the help guys. thxWell done jkang, glad you got it sorted.Good job.
