I have custom built computer with a gateway ws440bx mobo at 384mb ram running win 98se [I plan on upgrading to win 2000] , processor is a 450 mz
pentium 3 . it PRESENTLY has a floppy , zip , cdrom and 15 gig hard drive . I WOULD like to add a cdrw drive . I have a spare bay and y CABLES . how do I hook them to one another and mobo ? also which are master and slave ?

MBoard Slave Master

This is how the RIBBON cable should be laid out.
The jumpers will be next to where the power plug goes into the drive.
The drive will have a diagram designating the settings.

Keep both the CD drives on the same channel.

You could also add a second HDD using the same layout.

P.S. Which CD drive is master doesn't matter UNLESS one of them is a burner. If it's a burner set that one as master. Patio ,
