i was using my computer when it just closed down so i restarted it but to no avail it just restarts and restarts
i was told buy a new Hdd but that DIDNT work either can you help meHi there,

Start the computer and repeatedly hit the F8 key; which will take you to the "Windows Advanced Options Menu".  This should (hopefully) bring up a menu for you.  Try accessing "Safe Mode".  If that doesn't work try it again expect this time try the "Last Known Good Configuration).

If either of these work for you I would transfer all of your IMPORTANT data to another device (like a USB Flashdrive) and re-install your Operating SYSTEM.

1) Tell us about your system and OS

2) What is new or different SINCE the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?

3) EXACTLY what happens when you try to start the system (how far does the boot process get, do the lights come on, etc)?

So far, your problem sounds more like a power supply or ram or some other hardware than the hd.
