Answer» I have windows 10 and i want to dual BOOT into windows 7, but i want to use my external hard drive as a local disk in windows 7
Idk what i did but i went on command prompt and used diskpart and formatted my hard drive into ntfs And its taking so long to format
Pls helpWindows will not boot from an external without a sledgehammer and a full DAY of tweaking so your wasting your time...You really should just GET another INTERNAL disk (assuming this is a desktop) - Windows does not work PROPERLY on external drives. Also, unless your drive and PC support USB 3.0 the interface will limit the speed quite a lot.The only practical way to use an external drive to boot windows is to prise open the case and remove the drive (assuming it is a sata/ide drive with an adapter) and fit in into a spare bay in your PC as an internal drive. You might as well keep it as an external and buy another internal drive.
