Solve : HP cd-writer plus question? |
|
Answer» hi - i replaced the cd-rom drive on my dell pc with an HP cd-writer plus (not sure what model) that i bought used. it reads cd-rw's ok, but the drive spins and the light is on the whole time a cd is in the drive whether i'm actually accessing it or not - is it supposed to do that? but the drive spins and the light is on the whole time a cd is in the drive whether i'm actually accessing it or not - is it supposed to do that? Check the IDE/ATA flat ribbon cable. It may be improperly connected or damaged.well, i found out its a Philips CDD4800/45 drive - I haven't had any luck finding a driver, THOUGH. The Philips SITE doesn't have it, and HP couldn't help either... so I guess its hopeless |
