Solve : HP Laptop 17.2" LCD screen?

Answer»

I have an HP dv8000 laptop that is about 4 years old. The q7.2" LCD screen APPEARS to be failing. (Other than the screen its a great MACHINE so I'm trying to save it.)

(Various colored vertical lines on screen. When I do a 'print screen', save it in a file and look at it, the lines are not there, so problem is not in memory, must be failing LCD, I think.)

HP does not have spare part LCD screen for purchase. HP's recommended hardware vendor also does not have this part.

Any ideas where I could buy a 17.2" (diagonal) LCD screen to replace the one on my laptop??

Any HELP is APPRECIATED............ phil_vDepending on how important the laptop "portability" is, something that you might want to concider as an alternative to a replacement laptop screen is a standalone HD FLATSCREEN plugged into the VGA port of the laptop.truenorthGoogle "laptop screens" and you will find a number of sites that specialize in replacement laptop screens.
