Answer» hey GUYS, I'm back. I'm having a heck of a time with this printer of mine. It is an HP officejet 6110 all in one. It was connected successfully to another computer but when I tried to connect it to my other computer (2.0 Ghz, 512 MB RAM) The printer connects with a USB connection and I've PLUGGED the printer into a friend's computer and it will connect.
When I connect the printer the little box in the lower right corner pops up and says it is looking for a USB COMPOSITE device, then I get a blue screen saying that windows was shut down for safety reasons, there are no more IRP stack options and the systems does a physical dump of the memory.
Can anybody please help me? I'm super frusterated with this thing, I'm ready to make it a paper weight.
You have to LOAD the software then reboot and plug in the printer. It's all very self explanatory with the directions. If you don't do it in the right sequence it can get FUBAR'ed.Software is already on the computer, in fact the driver on the computer is newer than the one on the cd. When I ran the cd it simply told me my driver was newer so I should simply plug in the printer and all should be hunky dory. Nope. Didn't work. I also tried all the other USBs on the computer to no avail. One thing I didnt try, but I will is to put something else in the USB to see if the USB is screwy, I'll send a note once I do. However, please feel free to offer any advice or hints to help solve the problem before I post again. Thanks all!!Could be a problem with the newer drive. Install the old one. Sometimes newer does not mean better.
