Solve : HP OmniBook Xe3-gc Won't turn on but will lpay cd's? |
|
Answer» I recently inherited a BROKEN OmniBook Xe3-gc Mo. # F3776WT. When you press the power button the lights on the keyboard flash and the battery light comes on (when it's plugged in). There is some noise from the cd drive but the screen stays blank and it stops making noise. We tried plugging another monitor to it and it did the same thing and the monitor light stayed yellow. Not sure what 2 do next?!?! Any help would be appriciated!!!!Well, you said it... I recently inherited a broken OmniBook 1. Take it to a repair shop 2. Get estimate of repair costs. 3. If cost not too great, tell shop to go ahead. 4. If cost too great, throw busted Omnibook in trash. I guess sometimes the truth hurts lolMostly when it comes to laptops...they're like BIC lighters...when they break you replace them. I'll probably get jumped on by laptop repair afficianadoes but i just won't work on them. Don't get me wrong i've done it dozens of times in the past but it's just not worth the time and effort involved...Quote from: patio on October 03, 2007, 02:04:09 PM Mostly when it comes to laptops...they're like BIC lighters...when they break you replace them. Agreed! I don't like them! I know MANY people think they are better than desktops, but you pay more for less capability, often just as a lifestyle accessory toy to show off in front of people, they can get easily stolen, damaged, dropped, SOAKED, etc, the makers and their agents often cease stocking the incredibly expensive non-standard spares after only a few MONTHS sometimes, I could go on... One of the major problems I've come across when dealing with customer laptops is that the power port often breaks where the plug goes into the laptop. If that happens the battery will never charge. You might have a dead battery. If this is the case you might need another mother board for the laptop UNLESS the power jack can be soldered back in place onto the motherboard so it doesn't wiggle or feel loose anymore. That's usually the easiest fix. But depending on the laptop, it may or may not be cheaper to replace the mother board or just buy a whole new laptop. |
