I am using ONE hp 510 win xp pro sp2.this system will on on battery and working perfectly and also it will on on ac adapter(without battery) perfectly but when i inserted the battery it will only be working on battery .i.e no charging
The battery is ok as it has been tested on another same laptop.What could be cause?This doesnt MAKE much SENSE to me.
I understand it works on battery and it works on ac.
The PROBLEM is with the battery not charging when it is inserted and connected to ac?
How can it be working on battery if it ISNT being charged. Seems like the battery would die.

What exactly is the problem? It is not real clear to me from your post. Are you saying when you insert the battery it works but does not recharge itself when it is plugged in?
