Problem:


Hi, I am using a Hewlett Packard 4200C scanner.
The problem I am having is that when you HIT a button to start a scan
the scanner makes niose over and over again. Also the
light goes from green to orange. Now when you try to hit the button,nothing happens,no sound or movement. Property Manager says device working properly. Scanner ican has some kind of clamp at bottom. Does anyone know a solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:-?What kind of NOISE? A humm? Can you see if the scanner light/lens is stuck?

FlameKinda humm or grinding sound. Now it doesn't make any noise. The inside, where you open the lid doesn't seem to be moving at all.
JohnDid iy used to work? If so, what has changed? How old a scanner is it. Any other hardware problems?About 5 years old. Worked very well when I use it. Used it, roughly only about 20 times. Other wise nothing has changed. What gets me is,[Property Manager says Device is working properly.]
JohnHow can you check to see if the USB CABLE is good and if the
USB PORT is working ?
