Answer» I have a Hp ScanJet5p scanner that uses a SCSI INTERFACE. I recently purchased a new computer and also PICKED up a SCSI to USB adapter to try and reconfigure my Scanner to run in XP using the USB port. My question is this possible? Whenever I try to install the scanner the computer sees it as a USB Mass Storage DEVICE and won't see it as a scanner and will therefore not operate. Any takers on this one?You did install DRIVERS for the converter? The adapter is just a cable with USB plug on one side and a SCSI plug on the other. So I need an apapter for this item as no one was supplied with the cable.That doesn't change my question. Did you install drivers for it? Most converters can't work without drivers.. No, I have not installed any drivers. So I guess my next step would be to locate a driver. I think I tried to find drivers but had no real success. I'll try some more. Thanks You're going to have to look on the manufacturers website for the proper drivers, weren't you given one of those tiny CDs with an instruction manual on them and drivers? That's what they usually do with converters. Looking on the HP webpage won't do you any good, unless ofcourse, it's a HP product.. But then again, have you tried to install drivers for your scanner just to see if it might work? D'oh, I misread the post and thought the driver was needed for the scanner, not the converter. Well, if you end up needing your scanner driver, there's the link. Ha.

You're going to have to look on the manufacturers website for the proper drivers, weren't you given one of those tiny CDs with an instruction manual on them and drivers? That's what they usually do with converters.
