Solve : hp3310 install?

Answer»

Hi, I am TRYING to install a hp3310 on a win7 pc through a ethernet lan connection.

I have DOWNLOADED and tried to install the only software available for my win7 32 bit pc. It gets almost to the end of the installation and it tells me it cant connect find the 3310. When i select locate it by ip address it also falls over.

I downloaded the hp print diagnostic utility which sees the unit and the correct ip address. when i diagnose it it says everything is ok except its not the default printer.

I downloaded the hp network diagnostic utility which sees the 3310 with the correct ip address. when I select check connection it says no software installed.

I can access the 3310 through my web browser, and the ip address

Pinging the 3310 works fine.

I can go to add printers and add the 3310 as a ethernet printer only.

If I go to add a device its as if it does not exist

i do have a c6180 hooked up to the win7 pc by usb, which works good, would this cause a problem?

thanks for looking

If you open Devices and Printers, do you see the hp3310 there?Quote from: soybean on April 10, 2011, 09:42:59 AM

Hi, No device manager cannot see it. Thanks Did you follow installation instructions provided in documentation for your printer? Perhaps you need to review that. Yes I have and several times. What I have tried since last post was uninstalling the c6180 usb connected unit using revo (2500 registry keys/values) I then attempted to install the 3310 and a ethernet connection, it wont recognise the 3310. I uninstalled the 3310 stuff and installed the c6180 software choosing a ethernet connection. Yep no connection, changed it to usb and bingo, all good. Strange because both multi functions ping ok, are available on a web page using their respective ip. Makes me wonder if theres a network problem? Yes i have network cable tester and the 2 cables ive used are both ok. bumpbumpDon't bump; we don't like it. Be more proactive in looking for a solution. Try other boards. Thanks for your helpFollowing are some of the tips, which you must follow while you are using a printer with Windows 7 system.

Ensure that the cables are properly connected; you need to ensure that your printer is properly connected, and plugged in, and also the cable is accurately connected to the computer as well.

Check the power; make sure that the printer’s power is switched on, ensure that all the computer necessary computer components are also turned on.

Make sure that the hardware is properly plugged in, and also turned on. Apply troubleshooting.

A troubleshooter is a tool, which is generated automatically and which can EASILY FIX the problems that occur with your system.

Thus, if you are coming across different issues related to your printer, then you can consult the troubleshooter.

You require driver applications to run your hardware devices.

Make sure that the drivers are not outdated, corrupt, or incompatible, resulting in disrupting the communication between the printer and the computer.

Always make sure that you are making use of the most recent and latest device drivers, and also that are compatible with your system requirements and specifications, as this can be extremely USEFUL in resolving printer issues.
hello, I have the same 3310, and the same problems. on xp and vista. Ive found that other printer drivers are the problem. And also the usb.....the ports get confused. If you are using a usb port instead of lpt printer port and on a laptop you will find that using the 3310 offline migght work better if you can. There was also a specific step one tech gave me, and i will go back now and get back to you but it was in either port settings or driver defaults, I believe. but it made all the differance in installing and maintaining the install.
