Solve : html: resizing background image proportionally?

Answer»

Hi,
I'm not even sure if this is possible in html, but i'll ask anyway..

I have an image I'd like to use as my background image on my web page. Can I set it up so that the image resizes according to viewers' monitor resolutions and that its proportions stay the same?

F.ex. I have an image 1600*1200 and I want it to FILL as big area on the page as possible so that it is FULLY visible. Three persons with different monitor sizes (1024*768, 1280*768 and 800*600) view the page and each one of them can see the whole image WITHOUT scrolling.

Can this be done? So there can be seen f.ex. white color on the SIDES of the image, if its proportions aren't the same as the screen size.

Any help/comment (=not possible! etc) appreciated!
Regards,
--patriktry using size=100%.  usually will work to keep image completely on screen, independent of user's monitor res.
the guy above you is right. I use that to it works.
