Solve : hyper-threading?

Answer»

can anyone tell hyper-threading technology is good? i heard from friend that HT technology will spread hot quickly hence will damage my cpu, is that right? even though, cpu FAN can help to reduce heat but what if the HT processor spread hot quicker than the fan take the hot out?
cheersHyper threading can INCREASE performance in some applications.
I don't THINK it increases the heat OUTPUT from your CPU much, if at all, if that's what you're asking.I'm not sure if your friend is confusing Hyper-Threading technology with certain processors like the Pentium 4 Prescott that have the technology that just so happen to be notorious for heat problems.

The new Core i7 processors brought back Hyper-Threading (it's actually called SMT or simultaneous multithreading now).

No..CPU cooler (Fan and heat sink assembly) are provided and installed together with your CPU.... As long as your CPU fan is working, it is not a problem at all...
