This has been bugging me for a while now. Any time there's any sort of continuous loop going on within a program, I can hear a buzzing though my speakers and HEADPHONES if I crank the volume up. What's odd, is different things produce different sounds.

Examples:
- I keep Steam running constantly in my systray. Whenever someone on my friends list starts playing a game or sends me a MESSAGE, a small notification slides up from the systray displaying the info, pauses for a second, then slides back down. During the sliding processes, it creates a buzz/hum through my speakers.

- When I minimize or MAXIMIZE a window in Windows, there's a faint high-pitched buzz (almost like a gnat flying in your ear lol).

- When playing CPU intensive games, there's a constant hum/buzz which changes pitch depending on what I do in the game.

I'm using a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L motherboard with onboard Realtek ALC888 audio chipset. And also, when I built this system, I had 2 OPTIONS how to hook up the front panel audio.. regulard and HD. I went with HD if this makes any difference.

I wasn't sure whether to put this under Windows or hardware, but I stuck it in hardware because I don't think it really has anything to do with my OS. Has anyone ever experienced this before? It's incredibly annoying. Does it sound like it's just crappy audio hardware?

might be interference from the video card. I've had this problem, don't think I ever really cared enough to try to fix it.Are all the screws in place on all your add-on cards including the vid card ? ?
