my lovely girlfriend decided when she was shutting down my sony laptop that when it restarts it should do in ms-dos now all i get is a black screen
it starts like this
windows 98 is now starting your MS-DOSbased program
the following file is missing or corrupted C:WINDOWS\REALMODE\OAKCDROM.SYS
there is an error in your CONFIG file on line 4
c:windows>
and i havnt a clue how to get it to boot back to windows can anyone help me out ?ohh YEAH i FORGOT to say that the laptop has no floppy drive or cd rom OTHERWISE i would just re-install windows from my 98 cd and has no internet connectionAt the prompt c:\windows type win<enter>
Windows should load. Then start/run msinfo32 and tick the normal startup. It should start windows at reboot.cheers for that its now up and running
many many thanks f5 or ctrl KEY on boot...~~~start windows normally!
