Solve : I need help with graphics on monitor?

Answer»

I have a HP Pavilion a1419h with inegrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200 graphics card.  IMAGES are bleeding on my monitor, they are kinda like a shadow, but this is happening to all graphics, text, desktop icons, ETC... everything that is on the monitor.  It is making it hard to read.  I have already uninstalled and reinstalled th ecorrect graphics card drivers and software, but I can not resolve the problem.  I resolved it for about 1 hour when I changed my resolution from 1280x1024 to 1024x768  Now i get the same problem at every resolution, someone please tell me that my video card isn't shot, and please please please help me get it fixed...It sounds like your monitor is going out. Is it a CRT or LCD?

To start with, could you take a screen shot and post it?Restart in Safe Mode. Only default video driver will be loaded. How is your monitor there?
Possible to try your monitor on another computer?i have a LCD monitor and her eis a link to a screenshot

http://img141.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshotzd2.jpgi restarted in Safe Mode and everything seemed to be working fineScreenshot looks pretty NICE. I can't see anything wrong.ok i opened the screenshot on another computer and I could not see the same thing as i see on this computer, does that mean there is a problem with the monitor? Screenshot looks pretty nice. I can't see anything wrong.

Screen shot looks clear to me too. I think it might be your monitor. How old is it?

It could be the video card, but more often than not it's the monitor.

-=EDIT=-

Is that other computer conveniently near by? Can you try its monitor on your computer and see if you still have the same problem? That would most likely answer to whether or not it's the monitor or card. Quote

Do this first, if possible. It'll eliminate some guesswork. Quote from: Broni on December 01, 2007, 12:44:21 PM

Broni, what's wrong with you?

He took the screenshot from the affected computer and looked at it on a different comp and now sees what we see in the screenshot, a good picture. That's why i want him to try the other computer's monitor  ok, i hooked it up to a different PC and it worked fine, and now that Ive hooked it back up to the affected PC it is also working fine.... ummmm maybe the adapter was loose or something, but Ill keep checking to see if it goes back to being a bad boyAlright, if it comes back up, just come on back and let us know. We'll go from there. Quote

Sometimes, simple things happen. I wish, we have more cases like that And that is why we should always start with the easiest attempted fix, after we get ALL of the pertinent details.
