You are resetting the jumper while it is running?

What exactly happened between the time it worked and now?

The history is important to troubleshoot difficult problems. Were you monkeying about in the case and then problems? It was just fine and then one DAY POOF it didn't work? And it has been that was for "a while"? What's "a while"?
nothing realy happened i reinstalled windows and it started problem, i wasn't tinkering around the tower last time it didn't work was 10-03-2006, 08:33 PM, it was fixed by removing a ram chip and the problem started again today, here is the link to the forum that i posted my other problem on http://www.techsupportforum.com/hardware-support/motherboards-bios-cpu/119573-need-help-please-help-me-my-problem.html
I think this response from the other forum speaks volumes:

First of all I feel your PAIN. If I read RIGHT...we almost have the exact same stuff, along with almost the same problem. I have ben to almost every forum on the web trying to find help with this. When I did a google search on the Abit SG80DC and Pentium D 840...a whole crap load of pi$$ed off folks showed up with mucho complaints.

Like I mentioned above thats my MB/CPU...also have 512 Meg of pc3200 400MHz RAM. I bought this bundle off of TigerDirect.com. Well...this bundle of joy landed on my doorstep yesterday, and I have been beating my head against my desk ever since.

My issue is I am unable to load Win XP onto a brand new HD. I have switched HD's. What happens is, when there is about 9 minutes left of the Windows load process...my machine reboots, then starts al over. I have attempted default & optimized BIOS settings. I have three fans running, any my system temp is in the 30's C, and the CPU 49 C. So heat is not my issue. I am thinking that it's just a COMPATIBILITY issues between the Abit, and the Pentium D 840.

Did you contact Tigerdirect under your warranty? You may be stuck trying to make something work that never will. I hope it's not too late.I FOUND OUT THE ANSWER!!!! tigerdirect.com is replaceing everyones MB with a new BIOSTART MB b/c they made a bad combo on the barebones i bought so i am okie dokie thanks all for your help!!!Well that is indeed good news for you. I am sorry it took so long and was so much grief in the meantime, but am glad you followed through with this. Come back if you have other issues.
