Answer» Ok so my laptop was getting really hot, and the fan wasn't coming on so i opened it up to take a look see if the fan had a loose connection and a MICROCHIP actually just fell out. I was stunned, I don't even know what to do now. Should i take it back? Mind you it might be out of warranty. It still works fine by the way, i'm writing this from it so everything seems to work APART from the fan. Stupid Toshibas.
FBUm... that's definitely not a good sign...
Can you post a picture of the chip?
Out of warranty? Probably. fireballs, I definitely would URGE you to STOP using the computer with no fans working. It may be working now but it definitely won't be working LONG. Whatever it was that fell out may be the reason the fan stopped working as it may have jammed the fan causing it to fail. I would definitely cease speculating as to whether the computer is still on warranty and FIND OUT RIGHT away. One day over or left can make all the difference. Be carefull when you are discussing the warranty issue with the Mgr. as to what it is you claim you did as they will often seize on any excuse to say that nullified your warranty (if it still exists).Goodluck and keep us posted. truenorthhaha it went up to 97C the other day, that was interesting. Maybe i should take it to be fixed.....
