I don't know WHETHER this is the right place for this....
anywho my boyfrind downloaded Nero, and then decided that he didn't want it. so he deleted it. Now we can't use any of our media players to watch videos. I don't know what to do to fix it.
can SOMEONE please help?Right click on ONE of the videos you want to watch, and choose Open With --> Choose Program
Then select the program you want to open it with, and check the box so it always uses that program
Press OK, and there you go
Repeat for each file type you want to re-associate with your video playersIf that doesn't work, do a System Restore to undo his actions.

1. Click on Start, and then click on Run. In the Run box, type cmd and press enter.

2. Type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

3. Follow the instructions that APPEAR on the screen to restore your computer to an earlier state.

Look for the most recent system checkpoint created before the errors to restore fromAlright, we went out and bought " system mechanic5" and he ran it. It's still doin it's thing, and we can now listen and watch movies/music, but can't burn them, grr...
sometimes computers suck System mechanic will not fix the PROBLEM, as you found out. Did you do the things advised by the members above?
