In Windows you can change the name by right clicking My Computer==>Properties. Click the COMPUTERNAME tab and change the computer description field. If you change COMPUTERNAME in a cmd/command window, the change is valid for that session only. You can change it permanently with a VBScript and I would venture to GUESS that this INFORMATION is also KEPT in the Windows registry. Happy Computing. 8-)
