Solve : Image a drive, then strangeness? |

Answer» Thanks in advance for your help. I have 98SE running on a P3. Two hard drives installed (10G and 6G). 10G is set as primary master, 6G as primary slave. Rebuilt the 10G (FDISK,FORMAT,RELOAD) and it reboots fine as C: drive. I reformatted the 6G and used XXCOPY to create an image of the C: drive onto the D: drive. REMOVE power from the 10G and boot on the newly built 6G, which is now BOOTING as C: and all is fine. Reapply power to the 10g, and it boots to C: and I can see D: is a good copy. HOWEVER, if I unplug the 6G and try to boot on the 10G, which is where I started with a perfectly good disk, it no longer boots?? Reapply power to both, boot, and it comes up fine? I'm very confused. |
