Solve : Image burnt into modern screen?? |
|
Answer» I have a fairly new monitor (no more than 5 YEARS old), its a TFT and I have managed to burn an image into the screen by playing old DOS games. Is this curable or is it as ruined as an old CRT monitor after you burn an image in? I didn't know that you could still burn images into monitors.I would say its ruined still under WARRANTY? This type of thing almost assuredly falls under a warranty claim. LCD is supposedly impervious to screen burn-in, but I BELIEVE that sometimes manufacturing defects can make it possible.Quote from: Accessless on August 14, 2009, 05:33:29 AM (no more than 5 years old)I have no idea, it's a hand me down. (my grandad likes to buy the newest and greatest stuff... whenever someone tells him its the latest and greatest). So who would I contact? The distributer or the original manufacturer?PROBABLY the manufacturer, but if you know what store it was originally purchased at you could try there- but you'd probably need a receipt... After 3+ years neither one of them is going to HELP you...especially on a monitor. Sorry.awww oh well, there you have it then.Quote from: patio on August 14, 2009, 07:19:32 PM After 3+ years neither one of them is going to help you...especially on a monitor. Unless an extended warranty was purchased. They can extend to five years. |
