Answer» I recently bought and modified (slightly) a new PC. The onboard sound card just wasn't plain working no matter what I did. I disabled it in the BIOS, uninstalled it, etc. and got a (used) new card, a Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI. I've finally gotten it working, but now everytime I try to play a sound or a song, ANYthing, it shows that it's playing and no sound comes out. My speakers are plugged into the right jack, they're turned on, everything is hooked up properly, nothing's muted. Whenever I try to play something in Windows Media Player, for example, the visualization ripples once every couple SECONDS (even on loud PIECES), but that's it. No sound. Yes.it could be in your windows sound settings. Look at the System try near the clock and CLICK double cick on the one that looks liek a speaker... then make sure all that stuff is up.. I've gone on the official site and gotten drivers, I've gotten them off the CD that came with it, I've searched for and used multiple fixes, I've updated the drivers through XP... Everything's where it should be, and nothing snapped off. Also, I have confirmation that it was working in a different machine less than a week ago. Yes.it could be in your windows sound settings.
