Solve : Inaccurate HD readings??

Answer»

This may not be the RIGHT forum for this, but here goes...

my pc is old, and has a few smaller hd's in it.. the main is 5.97 GB.. but here lies the problem..

when i click on the hd in my computer, it says 5.34 used, 649 meg free.. but when i go into it, and select all, it shows 8,093,351 bytes, on the LEFT hand side.. .. when i right click on it then, it says that all the files SELECTED are 3.89 gb, and 4,267,311,104 bytes.. now my math isnt great, but i know how bytes go into meg,. and meg into gig.. so.. am i an idiot, or is this a problem?Hard drive space calculations are different than you might think.
