Answer» Hi I have A 3month OLD Inspirion 1545. I dropped it shattered MTHE SCREEN.I replaced the screen and now no backllight I was told check the inverter but I dont believe this screen type has 1. The shattered screen stiil lit up after I dropped it now neither screen has backlighting. Ihave checked all connections Its only 3 months old but is it worth fixing if so any ideas on how? thanksAre you sure you have replaced the screen with the same one? Same part number? If so, recheck your connections are good. Some other things to check; 1 With the laptop POWERED up, use a flashlight on the screen and see if you can make out any images, i.e. if you can see windows working. 2 If available, connect an EXTERNAL monitor/lcd to check if you are getting a good signal.
