JUST INSTALLED NEW MOTHERBOARD AND HARDDRIVE NEED HELP GETTING PUTER TO WORK.it  is a hp 524w the new hd is a maxtor 160 gig the mb is a ecs elite group rs482-m754. i thought i would make my puter faster by changing these parts .because the harddrive FAILED i took it out and pitched it. also processor is 2gig. basicly just trying to take parts and make a computer.guess i dont know as much as i thought.please help a computer illiterate person if you can.THANKSparis, welcome to the CH forums.i respond to your request for help only at this POINT to assist you to receive the help you seek.You have omitted sooooo much information that it is highly unlikely that you will receive anything that will assist you with your actual problems (whatever they may be). At this point we do not have a clue. Tells us MUCH more re the details that caused you to make your cry for help. Details of the computer,operating system, components (PARTICULARLY the ones you feel are your problem),what is happening (or not happening) when you try to run the computer,if it is a replacement (s) hardware what was there before,why did you change it.
