I am trying to install a Wanscam wireless IP home security camera inside of my mom's residence. In the Wanscam video below, they instruct that in order to activate the camera you FIRST have to connect the camera via cable to your router. But I have a wireless Internet connection and I don't have the kind of router that is shown in the video. Is there another WAY that I can activate the camera so that I can watch it on my LAPTOP?

A brief google search shows 10's of thousands with the same issue...can you still return it for a DIFFERENT Unit ? ?
