Hi guys

I am trying to install the above printer onto my works computer. I have Windows XP Professional VERSION 2002 Service Pack 3. The printer was purchased in 2006. I have the installation CD, but come unstuck at the same point every TIME: the installation process STOPS because "The printer could not be detected. Recheck the connection". I have tried all the USB ports ont he computer, with the same result. I have another photocopier/printer connected via a USB cable to my computer, so I know at least this USB prot works, but it still won't install the Canon. I have tried the Windows Printer Install, but it doesn't show this printer in its LIST. This printer has WORKED previously on another computer in the office, and I have tried 3 different USB cables. Any ideas gratefully received!!Since it worked previously on another computer in the office, can you install it on another computer, even if only for testing?

Have you tried downloading the latest driver/software for it from Canon's website and using that instead of the CD that came with the printer?
