Solve : Installing PC Memory? |
|
Answer» I have HP Pavilion 6730 computer with standard memory of 64MB and Hard drive of 10GB. I installed Windows XP and My mouse was freezing. XP recommends 128MB. I have HP Pavilion 6730 computer .... Type Supported SDRAM, 100 MHz, Intel PC SDRAM unbuffered DIMM specification, revision 1.0 compliant HP Pavilion 6730 Memory Component Attributes RAM (standard) 64 MB SDRAM standard Maximum 256 MB (2 x 128 MB DIMM) Speed 100 MHz synchronous SOCKETS Two 168-pin DIMMs Size 16, 32, 64, and 128 MB DIMMs Type Supported SDRAM, 100 MHz, Intel PC SDRAM unbuffered DIMM specification, revision 1.0 compliant The bigger module usually goes in the 1st slot. You would be better off putting 2 x 128 MB as it will still be on the low side for XP.I am not convince that the new memory is compatible. Some of those machines are very pickey. Did you just get it off the rack or check a web site like Crucial to guarantee a match? How much RAM is seen by the BIOS? |
