Answer» I am planning on building a gaming PC with a budget of around $900, I have chosen the Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 TI graphics card, Intel CORE i5-2500K processor and the MSI P67A-GD55 motherboard.
When looking at the specs for my CPU, I was intrigued to SEE that it said "Integrated GPU: Yes" What does this mean exactly? The motherboard I am getting does not have on-board graphics, is this a problem?
Thanks in advance.Yes the Sandy BRIDGE processors all include an on-die GPU, which is the Intel HD 3000/HD 2000. Basically this is onboard graphics built-into the CPU instead of the motherboard. http://www.anandtech.com/show/4083/the-sandy-bridge-review-intel-core-i7-2600k-i5-2500k-core-i3-2100-tested/
You'll be adding a far more powerful discrete graphics card and you'll have no use for the on-die GPU. You can't even use the on-die GPU as your motherboard doesn't even have a built-in video output.
