Solve : Intel Processor ID Utility Reporting Low CPU? |
|
Answer» I installed this utility from Intel and as the title states, the utility shows the "expected" CPU speed is 2.67 ghz on this processor, however, it is "reporting" at 1.59 ghz. I'm not SURE whats causing this because the two speeds should match. I have already done an RMA for a new processor with the same results. I've tried various MB bios settings but nothing has helped. I'm using a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R MB. Any input would be great. Thank you.Get CPU-Z: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php They don't knowInteresting....hmmmmmm...."interesting" is one word.So the dilemna still exists ? ? Or are we to blame intel ? ?The issue exists. Not sure who to blame since Intel did an RMA for a processor exchange and the issue persists. That said, The INTEL processor ID Utility is telling me the INTEL chip is not reporting as it should. They last asked me to reinstall OS (Vista HOME Premium) but I'm not sure that will help. If this didn't work, they asked me to contact the motherboard manufacturer (Gigabyte). I did this but they have not been able to resolve the issue either.Let me ask you this... Is the machine running properly ? ? Are any other of the CPU reporting apps including CPU ID; Everest; ETC. reporting things the same way ? ? Post back with your answers...Machine works fine. Here is a screenshot of cpuz. It seems to be reporting the same as the Intel Utility [attachment deleted by admin] |
