Answer» I have an older Compac EVO running fine except when I try to SHUT it off. If you do a STANDARD shutdown through the start icon OR access the shutdown mode mode via Alt-Cont-Delete, the unit will power down. However it will start RIGHT back up again on its own after about about 5 seconds. Anyone have an IDEA as to why and how it can be fixed? There are no other malfunctions. In order to keep it off, after the "Windows is Shutting Down" screen, you have to immediately depress and hold the power button in. I had this problem with a eMachine, the only way I could turn it off completely was at the powerstrip. I will be very interested in the answer to this.Check the BIOS settings >lan wake up should not be enabled>or in power managment
