Ok when i am at my house with my computer an the INTERNET is hooked up it works fine and everything but when i am over my friends house my internet won't detect or anything it use to detect but now it won't

He has version internet an i have comcast i am wondering if that could be the problem but it could'nt be cause it worked before with out any problem. He recently got a new router too could that be a problem

so i am asking just give me a step by step explanation on either how to fix it or tell me what's the problem if u cant fix it

Your level of expertise? someSo this is wireless or wired ethernet cable? Is he using DHCP or does he have an static IP address on his?

The easy answer depends on these issues.

By the way AMD does not make computers. Dell, HP, etc. do.the computer is a custom made my fault. The router has wireless capablility but i use a wired ethernet cable. And it should have a static IP address on his.billy.....What is displayed ...if when you are plugged into your friends router..........you click start /run..... then type cmd and press enter ......... when the new window opens ....type "ipconfig" and enter ...........

when i did that in the cmd that is all that came upbilly......ok ......thats what it should say .........the ip address is that of the router ......
So now go back to the same place again ..only this time type "ipconfig/all and enter .........
let us know what it says ........

The next THING to do is plug directly into his modem ......and see if you can connect to the net ok .....
and let us know . ( In other words just connect your pc to his modem ....without the router )

thats wat it sed when i put in ipconfig/allJust a hint Billy, if you highlight the text on the dos screen then right click it will copy it for you, then paste back in Windows as usual.
