Answer» I connect my laptop to the family desktop using a corssover cable. I TRY to KEEP my laptop free of internet fiflth, so i cannot connect to the internet, but now i want to. how can i SET up my laptop to connect to the internet through this family desktop, or would it just be easier to download the stuff i need then TRANSFER them?I assume your crossover cable is ethernet (not USB). My advice: purchase a router.then i guess it would be cheaper to just dl on this one and transfer to the laptop
